The Catholic Women's League of Canada is a national organization rooted in Gospel values, calling its members to holiness through service to the people of God. The CWL serves the parish community by contributing to the spiritual needs of our own parishioners.
Our members are involved in the various liturgical ministries including Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Readers, Choir Members and Altar Servers. We offer prayers with family for the deceased and funeral receptions, raise funds for a variety of charities, and organize fun social events for all.
General meetings are held on the first Monday of the month from September to June. Our discussion topics often reflect the objectives of the league (for example, the sanctity of life, Catholic education, religious freedom, social justice, etc.) Guest speakers are occasionally invited, with the meetings open to all parishioners.
We are about one hundred strong, Catholic women who are friends, working, playing and praying together!!
Come and see what we have to offer. We need you!

Our order is founded upon principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism, and we still hold true to these today.
The activities of Council 1667 are many in the community at large, as well as within our membership.
Beyond raising money for charities, we work closely with our parishes to ensure we offer the support they need.

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith.
Each session looks at a different question, and is designed to create conversation. No two Alphas look the same-they run in coffee shops, churches, bars, prisons, universities, schools and homes. There's no pressure, no follow-up and no charge; it's just an open, informal, and honest space to explore and discuss life's big questions together.
We had our first ALPHA in the autumn of 2016. We are hoping to continue this program at St. John's. Stay tuned for further information as plans develop!
